Q: Integrated USB Board Issue

Seem to be overrun by these type of drives recently. I have a WD10TMVW thats very slow to respond. It has board board 2060-771737-00 (image attached). I have a matching SATA board 2060-771820-000 Controller number) and have swapped the U12 chip. The drive does not spin up, but the board comes RDY and I can see the ROM information to presume the ROM swap worked. Any advice.

Hello,I have a WD5000BMVW 500GB USB disk. No clicking sound and do not recognized on PC.I swap ROM chip from USB PCB 771814 to SATA PCB 771820. Then connect it to PC3000 and no green lights on PC3000, seems disk is dead but I swap the ROM chip to 3 different SATA 771820 and same result.Any idea why do not work?Rgds,

Hi, I have received a WD my passport drive today for recovery It is giving re-initialise error Now I wanted to convert WD USB to SATA adapter WD PCB number is 2060-771814-001 I got a matching SATA PCB 771820 ( wwwhddoraclecom/viewtopicphp?f=7&t=1080) I found that there are two 8 pin chips in patient HDD U12 & U14 ( Photo attached) but donor PCB has got only one 8 pin U12 chip Before doing the ROM transplantation I kindly request data recovery experts
