Failed Seagate desktop HDD, model # ST1000DM003
I have a failed Seagate desktop HDD, model # ST1000DM003. At start, it makes two clicking noises and then dies, no more activity from there on.
Before i go opening it up, i wanted to try everything else first. If i order a replacement PCB for this drive, i wanted to know will you be copying the firmware from the current PCB onto the replacement PCB as part of my order?
When you get this PCB, you need to move your original PCB’s BIOS to the replacement PCB. The 8pins (4 pins on each sides) with 25P05VP、25P10VP、25F512、25F1024、25F1024AN、SST25VF512、SST25VF010, etc. are the BIOS.
