Seagate PCB 100466725 Failure
PCB failures (Such as Seagate PCB 100466725) affect thousands of hard drives every year and often result in permanent data loss. A hard drive may suddenly fail to power on, and a computer may not detect that it is plugged in. Some failed hard drives will also show up in computer BIOS with incorrect brand/model information. PCB failures can also cause physical issues such as read/write head failures, and many PCB failure symptoms overlap with the symptoms of other physical hard drive issues.

Q: ST3500320AS with SD45 fw update problem
Hi,I have this drive with SD45 firmware (Google shows that this fw is usually paired with ST3500820AS) and it shows unknown cache size – a known issue with these drives having SD04 firmware, which the drive originally had according to the label. PCB no. is 100466725. I wanted to update to SD1A as recommended by Seagate, but having different (than expected by the update) firmware, the procedure fails. Is there a way to force the update or any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
