hi. anyone can show how to make USB to SATA connection of WD 4 tb model:WD40NMZW-11GX6S1 AND PCB no is : 2060-800041-003 REV P1 .The pics of the PCB given in the same post. i am not able to find out the 4 PF which i need to remove . I can see the E71,E72,E73 and E75. But in the inside portion there is no reference marking of PF. . Any one have idea plz lead me. Betty

Q: WD30NMVW – issue in the controller of the motor

We have 2 WD30NMVW HD with the same PCB (2060-800041-000 REVP1).. One of these HDs is working properly while the other have a problem with the motor: when we connect the USB cable the motor does’t start.. This problem is related to the PCB because the motor of the HD start again only swapping the board.. To access the user data on the disk can we copy the content of ROM from the original PCB and write it to the donor one using PC3000? (without moving the chip from original to donor PCB). Thanks…

Q: Looking for compatible SATA PCB for WD40NMZW…

This is one of the new smaller USB PCBs. The PCB number is 2060-800041-003 REV P1. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work with 2060-800022-000 REV P2 (the only SATA version of this PCB that I know of). It just stays busy without spinning. I also tried manually saving ROM from USB PCB and writing into SATA (this bricked the ROM). Does anyone know of a “small” PCB that is different than 2060-800022-000 …

Hello, I had WD20NMVW-11C3NS2 with USB Interface PCB 2060-800041. Changed to compatible 2060-800022. After connecting It comes to Ready State but gets to BSY on HDD ID. I Have tried Isolating head contacts from PCB but it remains BSY only. Please provide Read Channel points which to short to get to SA access. thank you all

Looking for SATA compatible PCB for 4TB 2.5″ WD USB drives. Does anyone know if there is a compatible SATA PCB available yet?Note: when writing a “4TB ROM” to a SATA PCB from a 3TB drive, I just get BSY light (no spin). It seems the 3TB SATA PCBs (i.e. 2060-800022-000 REV P2) are not compatible with 4TB USB PCBs (i.e. 2060-800041-003 REV P1).Any insight appreciated. Thanks,Brian

Q: WD 4TB USB don’t read ROM after PCB change

a USB WD drive that had a problem in PCB, the customer bought a new drive with same model ID/PCB ID I moved ROM the the good PCB and drive start working correctly The customer left me the HDA (of the new drive), I bought the same PCB REF 2060-800041-003 REV P1 and I moved ROM to the new bought PCB Now, the drive spin well, Reaches readiness and run in Normal mode it can read Model/Capacity/SA SPT, but doesn’t read ROM here what it shows in terminal Techno mode key

Hi need some help here.I have this patient drive WD40NMZW-11GX6S1 which I swaped the USB PCB to SATA. After that I tried to load them into MRT utility by shortening TV9 and TV10. I couldn’t manage to ID it. It failed and stuck in busy mode.
